About the Department

The Department of Fine Arts at Islamic University, Kushtia, is committed to providing quality education in visual arts and design through innovative teaching, creative practices, and research-oriented learning. Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) Program

The Department offers the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) program under the Faculty of Arts, Islamic University, Kushtia, through three specialized disciplines: Graphic Design, Drawing & Painting, and Printmaking. The four-year undergraduate program follows the Outcome Based Education (OBE) curriculum framework and is designed to develop students’ artistic knowledge, creative skills, technical expertise, critical thinking, and professional competencies. Through studio-based learning, theoretical studies, practical training, and creative exploration, the program prepares students for advanced practices in visual arts, design, and related creative industries.

 

Undergraduate Curriculum

The undergraduate curriculum of the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) program provides a comprehensive foundation in visual arts, creative practices, and contemporary design studies across the three disciplines: Graphic Design, Drawing & Painting, and Printmaking. The Department offers the Master of Fine Arts (MFA) program, designed to provide advanced academic and professional education in the field of fine arts and design. The program focuses on developing advanced creative knowledge, research capabilities, critical understanding, and professional expertise through specialized studies in Graphic Design, Drawing & Painting, and Printmaking. It emphasizes advanced studio practices, artistic research, creative experimentation, theoretical studies, and professional development to strengthen students’ artistic identity and research capacity.
