The Department of Fine Arts at Islamic University, Kushtia, was established in 2019 with the aim of promoting creative education, artistic practices, and contemporary design studies in Bangladesh. The department commenced its academic activities from the 2019–2020 academic session with two disciplines: Graphic Design and Drawing & Painting. In 2021, the department expanded its academic scope by introducing another discipline, Printmaking. Currently, the department is conducting academic activities through these three disciplines, offering students diverse opportunities for artistic exploration and professional development.
The Department of Fine Arts is committed to providing quality education by integrating traditional artistic knowledge with modern creative practices, technological advancement, and contemporary global trends. The academic programs are designed to develop students’ creativity, critical thinking, technical skills, and research capabilities through studio-based learning, theoretical studies, practical training, and artistic experimentation.
The Graphic Design Discipline focuses on visual communication, digital media, branding, multimedia, UI/UX design, advertising, and other emerging areas of the creative industry. Its curriculum emphasizes both conceptual understanding and practical skill development to prepare graduates for professional careers in design and related fields.
The Drawing & Painting Discipline provides students with a strong foundation in drawing practices, composition, visual expression, art history, and creative exploration. The Printmaking Discipline encourages students to develop technical expertise and innovative approaches through various print-based artistic practices.
